Our Story

Theresa Hutchins, the current owner and operator of Business Alternatives, joined the Kentucky branch in December 1985. Theresa was trained by Bob Conner, the original owner, on the company's core practices.  She took ownership in December 1986.

Business Alternatives was established on July 3, 1981 by Robert "Bob" Conner and Gina Stinson as an alternative for businesses not employing  a full office staff.  Services such as tax return preparation, secretarial and clerical services, direct mail services and many others were offered.  Bob and Gina would assist clients with establishing their new business entity with all relevant tax agencies and work in tandem with other professionals, such as an attorney, banking partner, etc. to ensure the most advantageous tax structure.

Whereas Bob's clients all came to the office, Theresa currently goes to the client's home or office and provides the friendly and professional services described throughout this website.

The offered services have changed and expanded over the years but our motto still is   

        "Do what you do best, and let Business Alternatives do the rest!"


We are offering a FREE 30 minute review of your current accounting/bookkeeping records and  possibly offer recommendations to increase accuracy and efficiency. Or we can handle your accounting entirely for you!


We work closely with seniors to assist with maintaining as much continuity and independence as possible.  We can set up automatic bill pay, food and household item delivery, scheduling medical appointments and routine home maintenance, etc. With permission from our senior client, we will update adult children or other approved persons on areas of assistance provided or  financial reports .
